Far away from home by AmiralAesir Far away from home by AmiralAesir
- ---And then when I went to go kick the ball!
Mystic chuckles and ruffles Eliar's hair warmly
- Now no son. I'm sure Mom doesn't need to hear everything that happened in your day
Meanwhile Caitalyn shuffles slightly, looking down sadly :
- I miss you Mommy....
Mystic gently embraces his daughter as well
- My cooking's not that bad is it?

Vixa could only look away from the viewer as soon as her children came into view. All it had taken was the simple sight of Elair and Caitalyn to make her heavy heart break. As brave as her public face might be for her people and this war, her private thoughts saw this as an unwelcome event which should never have come to past. And yet...

And yet it was those same thoughts of her children that drove her to where she sits today. While it was her sense of duty that lead to her leading Tutus Portu's fleet into joining the Armada when her planet voted to answer the call to arms under the banner of
Fight together, or die alone!. Really, what had lead her to where she sits was the fear of what might happen if the darkness was to descend upon her world, and her children

So today she sits, wanting to push the desire to run home and be with her family aside so she can be there for her people. Something that becomes all the harder whenever she can steal the very small chance to speak with her family. She tries her best to remain strong for them, making sure they know there are times when the greater good, or at least the greater needs must come above whatever one wants. Still, the pain it leaves in her heart can be such a heavy thing to carry, but at least it gives her something that will guide her home one day.

Raaaah!

Ouf, ça me rassure. :)

As always mate, I am just in simple awe over what was done with this. More so since it is a method you don't like that very much.

Thank you for the art, and thank you for showing my artist friends how you made this wonderful image.

I was thinking about to add her face as a reflection on the glass... Maybe for another picture?

Yeah, that effect I can see working, and for a few reasons.

On one hand it works since it allows someone to see more detail, be able to see the emotions that would normally remain hidden. On the other they give it a look of what the person sees looking back at them is the thing that has made them break.

Yet with this one, it didn't need it. Honestly, I am telling the truth. This image is all the more powerful for the simple reason that all you see is her looking away from the hologram of her family. It pulls the person in more and makes them feel what it would be like if it was them there.

As a side note, it kinda does show off a little thing about the ships of this universe. Namely that they don't need glass (or at least something that reflects) in their windows. Don't know if that is something you want to overlook or not, but worth pointing out. :P
